  • Tangible

  • Intangible ( we can't see or touch but we can feel )


What is a tourism product?

  • It can be defined as the physical and psychological satisfaction that is provided to a tourist during their traveling route to any destination. 

  • Tourism products are something that is offered to a tourist destination.



Components of Tourism Product:

  • Attractions

    • Attraction is the main component of a tourism product.

    • Unless there is an attraction the tourist will not be motivated 

  • Transportation

    • It is the means by which the tourist can reach their destination. 

    • The mode can be by motor car 🚗, bus 🚐, airplane ✈️, ship 🚢 etc.

  • Accomodation

    • It is the very basic facility that is offered to a tourist in any destination.

  • Natural :  The tourism product which has been created by using resources provided by a tourist is called a tourist product. The mountains of Himalayas, sea beaches of Goa & the deserts of Rajasthan are some of the natural attractions. Major natural  attractions are hills, mountains etc.

  • Man-made: These are those tourism products which have been created by humans to satisfy pleasure or business or needs of any tourist. 

  • Symbiotic: This type of Tourism Product has a mixture of both natural and man-made features. In such products the natural remains core on which humans create recreational facilities.

  • Site Based: When an attraction is a place or site that is called as site based Tourism Product. Such places are always permanent in nature and can never be replaced or modified but to keep the interest alive new features are added to such destinations.

  • Event Based: Many events are purposefully organized at certain destinations to attract tourists. A tourist visits such a destination as both a spectator and participant.
