Protein Data Bank

Introduction

The Protein Data Bank (PDB) is a database that serves as a central repository for 3D structural data of biological macromolecules, primarily proteins and nucleic acids.

Specifications

  • Also known as RCSB PDB.
  • Started in 1971.
  • A standard Database.
  • Also a part of NIH.
  • Host experimental Structure mainly, but hold theoretical structures also.
  • PDB have 67,787 human sequences till today.
  • PDB have 999,257 Alpha Fold DB.
  • There are 17,446 nucleic acid structures.
